6) FUTEK Production Goes Paperless
In 2007, we implemented paperless production system to help alleviate reliance of printed documents and have now established absolute document control.
7) FUTEK opens East Coast Office
In July of 2007 we opened our East Coast Office in Columbus Ohio to provide more intimate support for our east coast customers.
8) FUTEK Web Site Fully Integrated
The FUTEK beta site became a fully integrated website in 2007 allowing web users to customize their orders by adding accessories, instruments and calibration service per their own needs. Other useful tools such as order status, lead time, and order tracking were also provided to better serve our customers.
9) Cryogenic Load Cell – Too Cold But Not Too Challenging
Built for NASA and tested by JPL, our Cryogenic Load Cell has been an engineering wonder since its design. In December of 2007, FUTEK Engineers were informed of a incredible feat where our Cryogenic Load Cell was tested to withstand a g-force of 2,200 at full capacity.
10) IEEE 1451.4 – TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet)
In 2007, we implemented the IEEE 1451.4 standard in our instrumentation. The standard applies to most passive and active sensors and provides a common plug and play platform and compatibility with legacy sensors. TEDS has simplified the process for interfacing sensors and instrumentation.
Wind Tower
Utilizing a single or multiple load cells, you may monitor all stresses induced due to high wind activities on the towers located in remote areas. The load cells via a junction box are connected to inline amplifier and data acquisition computer system to record all data and make it available through internet connection via a cell phone. There fore all activities can be monitored through the internet anywhere and at any time.

Ever So Thin Donut / Thru Hole Load Cells
FUTEK offers a variety of miniature donut / thru hole load cells. One of the more popular standard models is the LTH300. It has low profile robust construction available in 17-4 stainless steel with an I.D. range from 1/8” to 3/8” [3.40mm to 9.80mm] and available in capacities from 50 lbs to 1000 lbs. It comes standard with a 10 foot long 29 AWG 4 conductor shield Teflon cable with a very effective mechanical strain relief. The LTH300 has high stiffness due to its low deflection of 0.002” nominal and operating temperature of -60ºF to 200ºF. Some product highlighs ...

Extraneous Load Factor Tool
In almost all sensor applications, it is difficult to calculate the effect of misalignments during loading on the precision of sensors. These misalignments are known as extraneous loading errors or factors. This means that forces imparted on sensors in other than the desired loading direction will have a negative affect on the precision. To support our customers, FUTEK Engineers have placed the Extraneous Load Factor calculations for many of our sensor products. If there’s a model you require that we haven’t listed, please contact us and we will support you.
You can also learn how we calculate extraneous load factor here.
