IPM600 Calibrating the Meter
 
Method 1 (Equivalent Input Calibration Procedure):
  1. Press the Mode button>
  2. Press the ‘OPERATION’ tag
  3. Press the Page button until the ‘CAL. Lock’ tag appears on the screen
  4. Select the ‘CAL. Lock’ tag and select ‘OFF’, then press OK. This allows you to change the calibration settings. When you are through with the calibration of the meter it is recommended that you turn this feature ‘On’ so that the settings cannot be changed.
  5. Press the ‘UP’ button and you will be back in the main menu. Select the ‘CALIBRATION’ tag
  6. Press the ‘Increment’ button. Enter your desired increment value here with the number keys. The increment number will determine how the meter displays the input values. If you choose 5 then the meter will display values ending in either 00.0 or 00.5.
  7. Press OK and you will be back in the Calibration menu
  8. Press the Page tag until ‘Decimal Place’ appears on the screen.
  9. Select the ‘Decimal Place’ tag and choose the desire amount of decimal places, press OK
  10. You are now back in the calibration menu, press the Page button until ‘Equiv. Cal’ appears on the screen. Select ‘Equiv. Cal.’. Here you are to enter your Rated Output in mV/V (found on sensor certificate). Press OK when you are done.
  11. You will now be in the ‘Actual Cal.’ Menu. Here you are to enter in your maximum capacity. Press OK when you are done. You are now back in the calibration menu.
  12. (Optional) Press the Page button until ‘Digital Offset’ appears on the screen. Select the ‘Digital Offset’ button and enter in your offset. Press OK when you are done. You will be back in the calibration menu.
  13. Reenter the main menu by pressing the ‘UP’ button or by pressing the ‘HOME’ button and then the ‘MODE’ button.
  14. Select the ‘OPERATIONS’ tag. Press the Page button until ‘CAL. Lock’ appears. Select the ‘CAL. Lock’ button and turn the lock ‘On’. This will protect the settings you just entered.
Method 2 (Actual Load Calibration Procedure, Sensor Must be Connected):
  1. Press the Mode button
  2. Press the ‘OPERATION’ tag
  3. Press the Page button until the ‘CAL. Lock’ tag appears on the screen
  4. Select the ‘CAL. Lock’ tag and select ‘OFF’, then press OK. This allows you to change the calibration settings. When you are through with the calibration of the meter it is recommended that you turn this feature ‘On’ so that the settings cannot be changed.
  5. Press the ‘UP’ button and you will be back in the main menu. Select the ‘CALIBRATION’ tag
  6. Press the ‘Increment’ button. Enter your desired increment value here with the number keys. The increment number will determine how the meter displays the input values. If you choose 5 then the meter will display values ending in either 00.0 or 00.5.
  7. Press OK and you will be back in the Calibration menu
  8. Press the Page tag until ‘Decimal Place’ appears on the screen.
  9. Select the ‘Decimal Place’ tag and choose the desire amount of decimal places, press OK
  10. Select the ‘Zero Cal’ button. Check that no load is applied to the sensor and press the OK button.
  11. Press the ‘Actual Cal’ button. Apply an actual load to the sensor and enter the value of that load in the meter with the numerical keys. Press OK and you will be back in the calibration menu.
    NOTE: It is important to let the load settle on the sensor before taking the load reading.
  12. (Optional) Press the Page button until ‘Digital Offset’ appears on the screen. Select the ‘Digital Offset’ button and enter in your offset. Press OK when you are done. You will be back in the calibration menu.
  13. Reenter the main menu by pressing the ‘UP’ button or by pressing the ‘HOME’ button and then the ‘MODE’ button.
  14. Select the ‘OPERATIONS’ tag. Press the Page button until ‘CAL. Lock’ appears. Select the ‘CAL. Lock’ button and turn the lock on. This will protect the settings you just entered.
