| Current Output |
Example: You have a load cell with the specifications given below
Maximum Capacity = 100 lbs
Rated Output = 2.5 mV/V
Excitation = 10 VDC
Bridge Resistance = 350 ohms
Since the output of your sensor between the 2.0mV/V and 3.0mV/V it is necessary
to adjust the output of the sensor to 2mV/V so we can use the corresponding input range
The equation for calculating the Resistance Needed to adjust the span is below:
Rs = (Ao/Do-1)*Br
Where:
Rs = Span Resistance Needed |
Br = Bridge Resistance of Sensor = 350 ohms |
Do = Desired Output = 2.0mV/V |
Ao = Actual Output = 2.5mV/V
Thus:
Rs = (Ao/Do - 1)*Br = ((2.5mV/V)/(2.0mV/V) - 1) * 350ohms
Rs = 87.5 ohms
