The Journey To Now: Javad Mokhbery To Speak At LTU
Release Date: 11/18/13

Space exploration has been a part of international intrigue for the past six decades. From orbits, to satellites, to walking on the Moon, to successfully landing on Mars, audiences around the world have waited in equal parts awe and pride as boundaries extend farther and farther beyond Earth’s walls.

A 1979 graduate of Lawrence Technological University Mechanical Engineering, Javad Mokhbery was as enamored with space as the rest of Earth. Eventually Javad and his company, FUTEK Advanced Sensor Technology, Inc., had the privilege to work on many of the acclaimed missions above.

From 1978 to 1985, Javad Mokhbery worked alongside esteemed engineers at GSE, marking his introduction to sensor applications in the aerospace industry. After GSE, Mokhbery joined forces with Transducers Incorporated allowing him the opportunity to be brought onboard Rockwell International’s space shuttle program, where he worked on NASA’s shuttle Discovery. He was later recruited to assist NASA’s Langley Research Center with the development of a submersible cryogenic sensor operating in liquid helium. It was around this time that Mokhbery had gained enough momentum to start his own sensor design and manufacturing institution – and FUTEK was born...
