Load Cell - Shackle Pin Load Cell

When measuring loads in weighing load rigging or lifting applications, the most common solutions are either a shackle with an embedded instrumented load pin or a custom-manufactured load pin load cell that fits in the existing shackle, replacing existing shear pins, clevis pins, shear axles or any other type of pinned joints. This labor-intensive setup requires a lot of resources, as designing and manufacturing a customized pin load cell is a time-consuming process, especially as the designer has to ensure that the load applied to the load pin is centered or evenly distributed in the clevis pin.

FUTEK has a simpler, but just as efficient, solution. Instead of replacing or customizing components, an off-the-shelf pancake load cell can be integrated into the existing load block setup with minimal intervention to the hoisting and load block components. A high capacity pancake load cell with axially mounted rod end bearings is connected to the load block and the hoist hook using the existing shackles and load pins, leaving the existing hoisting elements largely intact.

FUTEK LCF Load Cell Series is suitable for up to 100,000 lbs capacity and can withstand up to 150% safe overload with IP protection up to IP65 (higher sealings available on request). The LCF Series Load Cells are built to withstand the demands of challenging environments and weather conditions and enable monitoring and logging of precise loads on any given rigging point.

FUTEK LCF load cells are fatigue-rated, a feature that is especially important for fixed and long-term applications. How it Works

FUTEK's LCF Pancake Load Cells are installed between the load block and hoist hook to measure crane lifting load.
As the load is lifted by the crane or any other hoisting system, the strain gauge load cell captures the weight of the hoisted load in real-time. At any point as the load increases, the operator can reverse the lift in case of overload. A load indicator or digital display is installed in the operator cabin for online monitoring.
The IPM650 Intelligent Digital Display is paired with the sensors for real-time logging, interlock, and alarming.
These systems are also available with wireless / Bluetooth solutions to improve versatility and logistics.
