This conceptual rendering of the multi-jointed robotic arm of a surgical system illustrates the important roles that sensors play in this kind of minimally invasive procedure. As the surgeon is working remotely from a console, his or her movements are translated into robotic movements that emulate the dexterity of the human hand and wrist. In order to move with precision and accuracy, the robotic arm relies on the sensors’ force and torque measurement and feedback.
1Harmonic Gearing Torque Sensor
Installed between the strain wave gearbox and mounting locations of the robot arm, this torque sensor measures the torque generated during arm movement at individual joints. It improves dynamic performance through faster acceleration and faster settling time.

A miniature sensor that seamlessly integrates into joints and motors, offering versatile mounting options and facilitating late-stage incorporation.
3 9 6 DoF Force-Torque Sensor
The force-torque transducer measures six forces (Fx, Fy, Fz) and torques (Mx, My, Mz) in three spatial directions, capturing the surgical instrument-tissue interaction forces in 6 dimensions and enabling precise manipulation of surgical instruments.

This monolithic hermetically sealed load cell, with a low-profile design, endures autoclave sterilization without compromising its specifications. With an IP69K rating, it withstands harsh conditions and over a thousand sterilization cycles.

5 Nano Force Sensor
Nano sensor, whose microscopic size allows it to be placed at the very tip of the surgical tool or integrated with the laparoscopic trocar, enables direct measurement that eliminates any factors that could create drifts in the output.

Featuring a slim low-profile design, these sensors deliver a robust pedal force measurement solution. It's an optimal choice for gauging foot pedal loads in the surgeon console of robotic surgery setups.

The Inline 3-Axis Force Sensor is a small-sized and low-profile sensor designed to measure forces in the Fx, Fy, and Fz directions with precision. It seamlessly integrates with the surgeon's hand movements, crucial for surgical dexterity. Multiple strain gauge bridges ensure accurate measurement and minimize crosstalk interference.

The Biaxial Torque and Thrust Sensor offers a low-profile design and lightweight construction, facilitating seamless integration of the surgical gimbal to accurately mimic the surgeon's hand movements. With multiple strain gauge bridges, the sensor ensures precise measurement while minimizing crosstalk interference.
