Model QLA317 is a custom miniature in-line load cell. It stands at 2.49 in (63.1 mm) in height, with a maximum outer diameter of 1.23 in (31.2 mm) and is designed to be used under positive pressure of 30 PSI max supplied through the 2x 0.25 in (6.4 mm) thru-holes. It offers a rated capacity of 1500 lb (6.67 kN), with a safe overload protection of 2250 lb (10 kN). It is constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel, guaranteeing a nonlinearity of ± 1.0% of its rated output. It also features a #29 AWG, 4 Conductor shielded Teflon cable 5 ft (1.5 m) long, with a built-in strain relief.

 

QLA317 load cell is used to measure the drag force in the pressure tube of the aircraft trailing cone system. Given its hollow flexure, it allows the static pressure to flow through the load cell to the pressure transducer. The load cells were installed between the attachment point and the pressure tube.
