FUTEK Continues its Support of the RoHS II Directive

Irvine, California

RoHS or The Restriction of Hazardous Substances is a directive that bans the selling of electronic equipment that contains certain restricted substances. The guidelines have several exemptions and we hope to clarify how FUTEK maintains its compliance.

FUTEK does not incorporate any Mercury, Cadmium or Chromium materials throughout the manufacturing process. However, we still use lead solder when producing select legacy products for high-reliability military, space, and medical applications.

FUTEK's sensors fall under the Category 9 Industrial Monitoring and Control Equipment exemption which is in effect until July 22, 2017. On that date, the exemption will expire and all Category 9 products sold in the EU marketplace must comply with the RoHS II Directive.

FUTEK can manufacture any sensors on our product line as fully RoHS compliant lead-free units upon request.
