FUTEK Releases New Differential Signal Conditioning Amplifier
The secret to the increased noise reduction is the differential signal output. The IAA300 outputs the amplified signal over a wire pair, leaving the receiving DAQ or PLC to determine the voltage difference between the wires and therefore the corresponding load. This method of signaling and the hardware used has resulted in a noise of 2 mVp-p,. Coupled with this significant noise reduction, the IAA300 offers user-selectable bandwidths up to 50 kHz.
Even with these new improvements, FUTEK has not compromised the form and function of the instrument. The unit housing is bright red powder coated steel, with a power indicator, shunt, span, and zero adjustments all accessible from the unit exterior. A DIN mounting clip and a body width of 0.70 in. allows for easy rail mounting. A magnetic cover allows easy access to internals and allows easy reconfiguration of the unit. With its more powerful hardware, the IAA300 features:
- DIP switch selectable signal bandwidths of 1 kHz, 10 kHz, 25 kHz, and 50 kHz
- Choice of 5V or 10V excitations
- Selectable excitation voltages of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 10.0 mV/V via DIP switches
- Signal polarity reversal switch
Built-in shunt resistors and remote shunt activation return bring greater ease of use to signal conditioning amplifiers. Shunt resistance is selected by toggling an 8 DIP switch block, allowing the operator to dial in their exact shunt resistance. Shunt activation can be accomplished by pressing the button on the unit exterior or by applying power remotely to the shunt activation pin, allowing system verification without ever having to push a button.
