FUTEK's Director of Quality Assurance Selected to Speak for the American Society of Quality

The monthly ASQ technical sessions provide the necessary forum for the interchange of ideas and approaches. Being that technology is changing so rapidly it is essential for personnel to keep up to date with the latest methodologies.

ASQ is a worldwide community of professionals committed to quality. The community’s aim is to advance quality principles and practices. The organization provides training, professional certifications, and vital knowledge to its global network.

The ISO 9001 standard is being completely restructured and will impose many new requirements. It's important that professionals tasked with implementing the standard have an understanding of how this is being addressed by their colleagues in the industry. This clinic is an opportunity to begin the process of comprehending the changes that are coming.

In a current interview, Director of Quality Assurance at FUTEK Advanced Sensor Technology, Thomas Bowles said, “ASQ has provided so much in terms of education, recognition, and certifications that I welcome this opportunity to give back by sharing our knowledge and experience with the rest of the Quality community. This will also be an opportunity for me to learn and benefit from the interactions with other Quality professionals in the field.”

By attending this presentation, professionals will gain:

  • Insights into the changes that are coming to ISO 9001:2015 and the motivation driving these changes
  • An appreciation of the impact on the companion ISO standards: ISO 13485, ISO 17025, ISO 14001, AS9110 C
  • An understanding of the changes that will be manifest within the Organization and the Company’s Quality Management System to comply with the new standard
