IAA105 is a one-of-a-kind amplifier that breaks new ground in sensor electronics. The fully digitally configurable device offers unsurpassed flexibility and simplicity during setup. This highly accurate device also features Bluetooth® wireless communication and USB configurability as well as built-in active protection for exceptional reliability and robustness.

Due to a range of highly advanced features, the amplifier has the lowest noise of FUTEK’s high precision analog solutions. Hence, the IAA105 will push the performance of any sensor to its maximum potential.

Fully digital settings

The IAA105 requires no manual process for calibration and setup. The device is fully digitally controlled and the entire calibration process can be performed through the SENSIT® Lite app. Users can adjust the gain or other settings, such as bridge excitation, output range, bandwidth and shunt. They can also enable and disable features as well as restore data according to their needs.

Wireless configuration

IAA015 features integrated Bluetooth® wireless communication, which performs configuration, calibration, and health checks via smartphone. It is also configurable via USB, which has the added benefit of powering the device.

Flexibility and ease

The unsurpassed system integration capabilities makes the IAA105 a uniquely easy solution to use in testing environments. The adjustable excitation combined with the variable gain feature allows this device to be paired up with many strain gauge-based sensors and to be calibrated up to ±10 VDC for any desired offset and span values. Examples of this versatility include configurations like 0-1.5-3VDC, 0-2.5-5 VDC, as well as a range of unique ones such as ±2.5 VDC or ±3.3 VDC starting at offset values 1.024 VDC or 2 VDC. This output flexibility makes the IAA105 suitable for 3.3V and other specific voltage ranges.

Unmatched versatility

The IAA105’s unique flexibility on span and offset configuration, its ability to be USB-powered, and its wide range from 5 VDC to 30 VDC, allows it to integrate with a majority of standard PLC, DAQ, and microcontrollers in the market that have both standard and non-standard input ranges. Three shunt values: 60kΩ, 100kΩ, and 150kΩ, and two bandwidth stages, 1kHz and 10kHz, can be selected.

Unprecedented calibration values

The innovative design of the IAA105 allows it to achieve uniquely precise system calibration. The device can calibrate the offset and span independently with a very fine adjustment down to 300μV.

Ability to hot swap

The IAA105 comes with the ability to hot swap, acting both as a protection in the event the unit is plugged in with power on or as a feature required for unique applications where power cannot be turned off.

Built-in Active Protection

The unit’s unique on-board active protection circuitry protects the board from ESD over current/voltage events. It constantly monitors the current draw of the system and if it detects any malfunction, it will shut down to prevent damage, allowing the user to investigate and resolve the issue.

Ultra-low noise

The novel design of the IAA105, with its chassis access through the connector, ensures that the performance of the sensor is not compromised by the amplifier, as its temperature coefficient is only 15 ppm of FSR/°C and the noise level and non-linearity of the system are as low as 2.8 mV-p-p and 0.004% of FSR, respectively.

Active temperature protection

The unit has built-in fault detection and on-board temperature measurement that continuously monitor the temperature of the board. If the temperature falls outside of IAA105’s -20°C to 70°C operating range, a red LED signal will start blinking. It also detects and signals open/short circuits of the bridge. These failure scenarios are also detectable through the SENSIT® Lite app.
