The digital strain gauge signal conditioners USB225 Pro and USB225 Pro Elite are streamlined single-unit signal conditioners that are packed with unique features and capabilities, such as exceptionally high resolution and innovative fault detection and health checks.
The easy plug-and-play connection of these digital signal conditioners eliminates the need for external circuitry and power supply. Risk for failure has been minimized through fault detection features that continuously monitor the sensor’s health and indicate any issues, providing crucial feedback for applications that need to be fail-proof.
The USB225 Pro Elite model has a super-fast sampling rate that has been pushed beyond traditional limits, enabling exceptionally high resolution, which helps maximize sensor performance. The Pro Elite version also supports RTD (PT1000) for temperature monitoring and TEDS recognition.
Both USB225 Pro and USB225 Pro Elite are upgraded versions of FUTEK’s groundbreaking digital strain gauge signal conditioner USB220, featuring a slimmer profile and improved performance and capabilities.

USB225 Pro and USB225 Pro Elite are modern, single-unit signal conditioners that eliminate the need for an external power supply, analog signal conditioner and display equipment. Power consumption of the devices is as low as 32mA with inrush current below 500mA. This device is a USB 2.0 device which is also compatible with USB 3.0 ports.
The USB225 Pro Elite can achieve a sampling rate from 2.5 SPS up to 38.4k SPS by maintaining a high resolution output from 11 to 20 Bits (see specifications sheet). This is an unprecedented achievement that stands out even among FUTEK’s industry-leading signal conditioners.
USB225 Pro and USB225 Pro Elite provide live feedback that the sensor is active, connected, and able to perform the measurement through a visual indicator (LED) and through FUTEK SENSIT™ software. The LED, which is placed at the corner of the device to ensure visibility from 180 degrees, signals solid green for normal operating mode and changes to blinking red if it detects any short or open circuits at the bridge.
This USB225 Pro Elite has TEDS compatibility, which eliminates human error during set-up and installation. Multiple profile capability facilitates multiple sensors for one instrument, making it cost effective and simple to operate.
The USB225 Pro Elite features on-board temperature measurement that allows the red blinking LED to double as a temperature check when the device is out of the specified temperature range of –4°F to 176°F (–20°C to 80°C).
The unit’s strain gauge reader supports external RTD (PT1000) for temperature measurements in sensitive applications. This feature is especially useful for environments that either have a high rate of temperature change or temperature change across a wide range of values.
The USB225 signal conditioner lower supports low resistance bridges (parallel bridges) and the connector is designed to have a higher pitch than its previous version, making it easier to attach wires. The shunt resistance can be chosen from among 43 kOhm, 60.4 kOhm and 150 kOhm.
Both strain gauge signal conditioners provide enhanced accuracy, performance, and long-term stability. In particular, their non-linearity is less than 0.002%, which is the lowest of any of FUTEK’s high-precision sensors and electronics.
Both versions of the USB225 can be used with strain gage-based sensors that measure load, torque, pressure, or displacement. Standard USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports or adapters can be used as a power source for these devices, making them flexible and portable. Both USB225 models can support any sensor bridge resistance as low as 87.5Ohm and an input range of up to 16mV/V.
