S-beam load cells, also known as Z-beam load cells, or S-type load cells, are force sensors that measure tension and compression. S Type Load Cells are named for their S-shaped body and belong to the beam category of load cell types.

S-beam load cells are known for their performance and versatility. They can be hooked up to a variety of load cell amplifiers (signal conditioning) to integrate with a PLC, DAQ or a local indicator. Each Shear Beam Load Cell has a threaded hole at each end, making it a very flexible solution. Different accessories can be added to the S beam load cell to add an extra degree of utility or accuracy, depending on your requirements. The threaded hole can also be fitted to a threaded bar, eyebolt, or rod end bearing depending on the manufacturer and the purpose for which the load cell is to be used.

Our flagship LSB205 force sensor has a 0.75” x 0.69” x 0.26” envelope and features unique capabilities such as an integrated IEEE1451.4 TEDS chip, which makes setup simple and greatly reduces setup errors, a PT-1000 temperature sensor that enables support for real-time temperature compensation, and a detachable 7 Pin FUTEK aerospace-grade cable connector that allows for quick cable disconnect and helps separate the force sensor from cable damage. The submersible LSB210 S Type Load Cell stands 0.75” tall and 0.25” thick and is ideal for applications with exposure to liquids. It has COTS readily available and an IP68 rating.

The entire FUTEK S-beam load cell product line is manufactured in the US and uses metal foil strain gauge weight measurement technology. The models can be modified or customized to meet your requirements and most capacities are in our inventory, making them available for 24-hour shipping.
