Micro Parallelogram

Ultra-Low Profile Sensor for Minimal Mechanical Stack-Up

FUTEK’s LSM100 is a bending beam load cell that excels in shear force measurement under both tension and compression. Its low profile of 0.3 in (8 mm) simplifies integration into tight assemblies, while load capacities from 5 to 50 lb (~22.2 N to 222.4 N), combined with 150% safe overload protection, make it suitable for a wide range of applications such as syringe calibration, wire bond testing, pill weighing and capsule filling, batching systems, counting scales, and food processing. Integrated mounting provisions ensure precise alignment and straightforward mechanical integration into surrounding structures. Designed for high-volume, continuous use, the LSM100 is well suited for OEM applications where space, repeatability, and fast assembly are critical.

Ultra-Small Footprint

A compact form factor measuring 0.3 inches in height and 0.22 inches in width, combined with a weight of just 5.6 g, helps target applications requiring ultra-small footprints.

Flexible Connectivity

Detachable 6-pin FFC/FPC connector simplifies cable connection, disconnection, and replacement without sensor or system disassembly, reducing downtime and improving system availability.

Precise Mounting Provisions

Dedicated loading and mounting provisions simplify integration into low-stack assemblies. The loading provision features a Ø3 mm pin interface for coupling a custom loading member without increasing assembly height. At the fixed end, dual Ø3 mm locating pins ensure precise alignment and repeatable placement, reducing assembly variation and vibration-induced motion.

3D CAD rendering of a compact load cell and pulley assembly labeled “LSM100.” The image shows a large white pulley wheel mounted vertically between two black support arms attached to a pulley bracket. A small rectangular micro parallelogram load cell sits horizontally inside the frame, connected to a brown flex cable and electronics board. Purple-highlighted Ø3 mm mounting pin holes are shown on both the pulley bracket and base fixture. Red annotation labels identify key components including the pulley bracket, base fixture, mounting pins, and micro parallelogram load cell.

High Accuracy

Proprietary parallelogram cantilever design ensures accurate, repeatable, and reliable measurements.

Plug and Play Setup

Integrated IEEE 1451.4 TEDS autorecognition provides information about a sensor’s sensitivity and excitation range, reducing setup time and minimizing configuration errors.

Aerospace-Grade Construction

Aerospace-grade stainless steel provides exceptional strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance across a wide temperature range. The material also enhances the sensor’s ability to handle extraneous forces.

17-4 PH Stainless Steel

Safe Overload

Overload stop design protects the sensor from accidental overload in both tension and compression (up to 150% of Rated Output), minimizing the risk of mechanical damage.
